Every year, AIA members from across the country generously give their time and money to a variety of worthy causes and charities.
The High Fives for Kids Foundation, which was established in 2005, assists AIA’s members and divisions in their efforts to support charities that benefit children and youth by collecting and redistributing funds. The foundation offers members the opportunity to have a great impact in their communities by providing grants, scholarships, and donations that address local needs.
In 2014, the foundation raised funds through contests, charity auctions, golf tournaments, and direct donations. For the first time, the foundation also supplied donors with limited edition, commemorative High Fives for Kids scarves at Canada Night in Las Vegas, Nevada. The successful scarf campaign raised more than $9,000, bringing total donations to the foundation to a quarter of a million dollars since 2005.
The contributions that AIA members make to benefit the children in their communities exemplify how even a small gesture can have a great impact. In this spirit, AIA’s members are encouraged to continue contributing to the foundation via local fundraising efforts and to increase awareness of the charity by promoting the foundation at their local events.
“With a national network of members and volunteers from all levels of the automotive aftermarket parts and service sector, we are well positioned to help kids in communities everywhere in Canada,” says Honorary Chairman Ken Coulter.
