Giving back to the collision industry with Trista Anger
As part of International Women’s Day 2024, AIA Canada is recognizing women from across the auto care industry, highlighting their experiences, achievements, and success in their careers. Throughout her career, Trista Anger has championed women in the industry, promoted inclusivity, and aims to show why working in the auto care industry is so rewarding.
Trista Anger, regional business manager, BASF
Trista Anger began her collision industry career in 2004, after spending over a decade focused on the Canadian consolidated market sector and working within both network and corporate organizational models.
For the past five years, Trista has served as the Regional Business Manager for BASF, leading the Western Canadian automotive refinish team and providing multi-faceted business support to auto body shop clientele and her team.
Priding herself on striking the fine balance between property/casualty insurer and collision industry priorities, her passion and skills have been a driving force for her entire career.
In addition to her skills and ambition, Trista knows the importance of giving back to the collision industry, in both professional and personal aspects of growth.
“I am honoured to be a member of the Women’s Industry Network (WIN) and having previously served on their Board of Directors. My volunteer activity has allowed me to continually develop and apply my broad industry experience to the effective navigation of customers and corporate partners through the dramatically changing collision repair landscape.”
“As a woman, I have never viewed or experienced my gender to be a contributing factor to either my challenges or successes. I believe that there are certain personality traits that I possess that have contributed to my success, including being forthright, honest, and unafraid to work hard and face challenges.” says Anger.
“That being said, this industry does present a plethora of opportunities with definitive room for increased representation by women, who are currently dissuaded to join the industry based on the common misconception that the industry is male dominated.”
This International Women’s Day, Trista cherishes her time in the collision industry, calling it her home.
