Advanced manufacturers in Ontario: Subsidy available to hire recent graduates
Centennial College, in partnership with Unifor, received funding under the Government of Ontario’s Skills Development Fund to deliver advanced manufacturing skills-based training. Graduates have received 160 hours of in-depth training developed in collaboration with industry partners to address skills shortages.
To put graduate skills to use, meet industry needs and build a talent pipeline, Centennial College’s School of Engineering, Technology and Applied Sciences is looking for employers in the advanced manufacturing sector to hire graduates.
Employers receive incentives of up to $3,000 per work placement per participant (30% of participants wage and up to $3,000.00). To be eligible, the work placement for the graduate must be a minimum of 8 weeks and take place between February 1, 2022 and March 31, 2022.
Graduates have developed skills needed for Automation & Industry 4.0, including:
- Fundamentals in Mechanical System, Fluid Power, Pneumatics, Electrical AC/DC, PLCs, Robotic and Industry 4.0
- In the above-mentioned areas through FESTO-NC3 and FANUC Robotics Canada
