What inspired you to work in the auto care sector?
My journey into the auto care industry was shaped by both professional ambition and personal passion. After years in senior management roles within technology and business consulting, I felt increasingly drawn to the hands-on craftsmanship I had always enjoyed with vehicles. Growing up, I spent countless hours maintaining and modifying cars and motorcycles, fascinated by how small changes could lead to significant improvements. This passion naturally guided me into the auto care sector, where I could merge my technical expertise with strategic leadership.
The transition to Pacer Dynamics Automotive allowed me to apply my knowledge of operational efficiency and innovation to automotive parts manufacturing. What excites me most about this industry is the balance of tradition and forward-thinking—whether it is the evolution of electric vehicles or advancements in supply chains, there are always new challenges to solve and opportunities to drive meaningful change.
You are involved in the Young Professionals in the Auto care sector community—what does it mean to you?
Being part of the Young Professionals in the Auto care sector (YPA) community is about shaping the future of the auto care industry. It provides a space for like-minded professionals to share ideas, collaborate, and learn from each other. For me, YPA is about creating lasting, positive change by building connections with the people who truly drive the industry forward. The strength of the auto care sector lies in its people, and that is what makes this community so valuable.
Through our trusted logistics partners at Ziing, we were introduced to the AIA, where I have had the privilege of befriending incredible professionals like Noah Smolders from AutologiQ and respected industry advisor Joe Mercanti. The AIA has also connected us with inspirational leaders like Adam Malik and Delon Rashid from Turnkey Media Solutions. The support from these organizations and individuals has been instrumental in our journey, and it is relationships like these that make YPA so impactful. We are fortunate to call them not just industry peers, but friends.
What advice do you have for someone starting out in the industry?
For someone just starting their career in the auto care industry, stay curious and dive into as many areas of the industry as possible. Build relationships early, ask questions, and speak with mentors who can guide you. Do not be afraid to get hands-on and learn the technical side, but also develop your business acumen—it will help you see the bigger picture.
For those, like myself, coming from another industry, leverage your existing knowledge and skills, but also be open to adapting them to fit this unique space. Auto care has its own nuances, so understanding both the technical details and the market dynamics will be key. Coming from another field gives you a fresh perspective, which can be an advantage if you combine it with industry-specific knowledge. In both cases, persistence, adaptability, and relationship-building will go a long way—the rewards will come with the effort you put in.
