Consultation on the future of competition policy in Canada
The Government of Canada is seeking input on the future of competition policy in Canada, including how to ensure the law and its provisions remain effective in serving our national interest, and how to improve or protect competition in emerging data and digital markets.
AIA Canada is actively engaged in this consultation process as this is a critical moment to reform competition law so that it better protects consumers, promotes fair markets, enables small and medium-sized businesses, and supports Canadian workers.
Alana Baker, AIA Canada’s Senior Director of Government Relations recently participated in a roundtable discussion with the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada to present AIA Canada’s views on what changes may be needed to facilitate growth and enhance consumer outcomes as they relate to the auto care industry.
Further, AIA Canada will also be submitting as part of the government’s online public consultation, a written brief outlining its key recommendations.
AIA Canada members are encouraged to get involved and share their support.
A template letter of support can be provided to assist you. For more information, please contact our Government Relations team at gr@aiacanada.com.
The deadline to submit feedback as part of the online consultation is March 31st, 2023.
