Industry Strategy Council
The federal government is creating a new council of business leaders to identify the impacts of COVID-19 on Canadian industry. The council will leverage the federal government’s existing Economic Strategy Tables comprised of industry leaders in advanced manufacturing, agri-food, tourism, digital industries, resources of the future, health and bio-sciences. Industry leaders from retail and transportation will also be invited to be a part of the Industry Strategy Council.
Extension of wage subsidy
The Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy program is being extended through June 2020. The federal government has yet to announce how long the program extension will last. More news is expected this week.
