Driving industry growth: The lasting impact of AIA Canada volunteers

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we are taking the time to recognize the significant role our volunteers play in helping advance the auto care sector across the country.  

Volunteers within AIA Canada contribute their time and expertise to support the growth and evolution of the auto care sector. Their involvement spans governance, finance, community outreach, professional development, and industry representation. Through this work, volunteers help ensure that the industry remains responsive, resilient, and forward-looking. 

Their contributions have a significant impact. Volunteer-led committees influence policy, advocacy, and national initiatives, while local divisions and charity groups foster community engagement, build professional networks, and support students and families. These efforts not only meet immediate needs but also help develop the next generation of industry professionals—strengthening the long-term sustainability of Canada’s auto care sector.  

The volunteer network at AIA Canada 

AIA Canada is supported by a diverse and committed network of volunteers who serve in a variety of roles: 

• High Fives for Kids Foundation Board of Directors: This group oversees charitable efforts focused on raising funds for scholarships and supporting children and youth across Canada. 

• AIA Canada Board of Directors: Provides strategic oversight and leadership for the Association. 

• Audit and Finance Committee: Ensures financial accountability and guides fiscal strategy. 

• Young Professionals in the Auto care sector (YPA) Committee: Engages the next generation of industry professionals through networking and professional development opportunities. 

• Collision Repairer Council: Represents the interests and concerns of Canada’s collision repairers and helps shape advocacy efforts. 

• CCIF Steering Committee: Influences and drives discussions for events on key issues in the collision industry.  

• Divisions: Regional groups that provide valuable insights, ideas for potential events, and connect professionals within each province. 

Together, these volunteers contribute to the growth and modernization of Canada’s auto care industry. Their work helps ensure that the Association remains aligned with the evolving needs of its members and the broader community.
