In Memoriam Bob Greenwood
Dear Members,
All of us here at AIA Canada were saddened to learn about the death of longtime aftermarket champion Bob Greenwood, who passed away suddenly on September 9 at the age of 71.
Bob was a passionate and engaged ambassador for the automotive aftermarket and huge supporter of AIA Canada and its mission. Moreover, he was an active member, serving on the board of directors from 2018 to 2019, and making key contributions to the re-launch of the BC division in 2016 where he served as treasurer until 2018. Typical of Bob’s generosity and commitment, he volunteered his time and expertise to provide multiple business management courses on behalf of the division.
Bob’s true passion was developing the next generation of automotive aftermarket professionals. He was involved for many years with AIA Canada’s Student Aftermarket Day at Georgian College, and was a consultant to the college. He provided the school curriculum advice and advocated for the development of the Automotive Business School of Canada’s post graduate program.
Always eager to share his experience with others, Bob hosted the long running “Greenwood’s Garage” video series for autoserviceworld.com and recently launched his own podcast, “Second Thoughts.”
Bob was truly market leader and innovator when it came to garage management training. It is no exaggeration to say that his teachings were responsible for the success of many aftermarket ASP entrepreneurs.
Most of all, Bob will be remembered by those who knew him for his sense of humour and contagious laugh.
AIA Canada extends sincere condolences to Bob’s family and friends.
