Students across Quebec learn about the auto care industry with AIA Canada Day
Since February 12, the AIA Canada Quebec Division has been holding events as part of the fourth annual AIA Canada Day. This event provides division members with the opportunity to meet students from various vocational training centers (CFP).
Throughout these events students had the opportunity to learn about the auto care sector, job opportunities, and how they can create a successful career. With the support of teachers, members of the Quebec Division, and industry professionals, ten vocational training centers were visited across the province this year.
Schools that participated include CFP Nova, CFP Pavillon de l’Argile, École des métiers spécialisés de Laval, École des métiers en équipement motorisé de Montréal, CFP Verdun, CFP Compétence Rive-Sud, CFP Rimouski-Neigette, CFP de Coaticook, CFP Wilbrod-Bherer and CFP des Portages-de-l’Outaouais.
A total of 18 scholarships, valued at $500 each, were awarded to students from participating schools. These scholarships were awarded to deserving students on the basis of criteria such as perseverance, resilience and academic performance. This scholarship is presented on behalf of the Raymond Savard Scholarship in collaboration with AIA Canada’s High Fives for Kids Foundation, totaling $9,000 given back to students.
AIA Canada is proud to inform students about the auto care sector and show them how they can create successful and passionate careers. This year, we are excited to say that more than 50 classes participated and approximately 1,000 students attended.
