AIA Welcomes Ron Tremblay as ASP Council Chair

AIA Canada is pleased to announce Ron Tremblay as Chair of the reinstated ASP council. Ron Tremblay grew up in a second generation auto service family and became a third generation Automotive Service Apprentice, in 1978, at Tremblay Motors in Vancouver, which his grandfather founded in 1934.  Ron’s passion for business and strong family values provided a challenging and beneficial education, which gave him a keen vision and knowledge to manage, lead and redesign his own six bay service facility in the heart of Vancouver B.C. into a highly profitable business that makes use of state of the art tools and context to remain at the front of the industry.

Ron has dedicated his life to not only building and sustaining his family’s legacy based on strong core values, but he also uses his considerable energy and expertise to give back to the industry nation-wide.

He worked with the team at Total Automotive Consulting and Training as an implementation coach from 2005 to 2013.  Were he worked with hundreds of automotive service shop’s throughout Canada in implementing effective management tools to increase customer satisfaction and reduce stress for everyone while maintaining a profitable business.

Ron is the Chair of the restructured automotive Sector Advisory Group since October 2014 reporting to provincial government and the Industry Trade Authority of B.C. on industry conditions and concerns in Red Seal certification and apprenticeship system for British Columbia.

April 2015, Ron participated in the National Occupational Analysis for the Red Seal Standards of automotive technicians.

He regularly contributes to the Automotive Programme Advisory Committee for the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Currently Ron is a board member of the mechanical repair division for Automotive Retailers Association of B.C., a board member of the Canadian Independent Automotive Association and in October 2016 began a three year term as Chairman of the Board for Automotive Retailors Association.
