The new cannabis act

On October 17, 2018, the Cannabis Act came into force. With the legalization of cannabis, employers may need to address some of the impacts of marijuana in the workplace, including: workplace safety concerns; alcohol and drug policies and testing practices; problematic drug use or dependence; defining cannabis impairment; potential costs to the organization; implementation of prevention strategies; accommodating medical cannabis use; and, consumption during work-related events.

AIA Canada will be hosting informative online sessions to address the impact of cannabis in the workplace.
